The Dow Chemical Company is currently seeking New College Graduates with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering that will graduate in December 2017 or in the Spring of 2018.

Production Engineer

The Production Engineer provides daily technical support to plant operating personnel in order to maintain the safe, reliable, and efficient operations of a power generating facility. Key areas of emphasis are environmental health, and safety (EH&S) performance, maintaining & optimizing operation costs, and all aspects of plant technical performance such as energy efficiency and asset utilization. Production Engineers may also inspect completed installations and observe operations of equipment, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. The job also provides experience with low voltage three-phase and single-phase alternating current power systems and equipment.

Improvement Engineer

The Improvement Engineer will apply technical skills to initiate and assist in the development and execution of plant improvement and optimizations projects. This role works very closely with local production plant personnel, yet is part of a larger global technology organization. Improvement Engineers may be involved in such things as plant power system modifications, electrical distribution network improvements, perform & review short circuit, load flow, and other power system studies to insure appropriate equipment ratings and power system performance, and develop & document electrical area classification details & drawings.

Design Engineer

The Electrical Design Engineer may be involved with the design of such diverse items including facility lighting, motor control center design & installation, power transformers, high & low voltage switchgear, and electrical heating of chemical equipment and pipelines. In addition, the design of electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, and systems for industrial purposes will be expected. The Design Engineer will be expected to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications. Electrical Design Engineers will also be required to prepare detailed specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment for capital projects and must be willing to familiarize themselves with the governing National Codes and Electrical Engineering Practices and be able to work with other engineering disciplines.

Maintenance/Reliability Engineer

Reliability Engineers utilize reliability and predictive tools and technology to help prevent unexpected equipment outages. Reliability Engineers will lead and/or participate in root cause failure investigations of the electrical equipment. Maintenance engineers support maintenance and repair of power electronic equipment, protective relays, and power distribution and power utilization equipment .

Majority of the positions for Manufacturing & Engineering are expected to be available in locations such as; Louisiana, Michigan and Texas. Other limited positions may exist at other small sites in the United States.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a 2.700 GPA is required.

Graduation date between December 2017 and August 2018.
